She Built This Network Before “Wellness” Was a Word.

Wendy La Torre — three decades in the trenches of health media, fitness commerce, and relationship architecture — joins Health News Network as the connective tissue its ecosystem needs.

Health News Network (HNN), the world’s first expert-owned health media network, has named Wendy La Torre to its leadership and strategic relationship ecosystem. The announcement signals more than a hire it’s a statement about what kind of company HNN intends to be.

La Torre doesn’t carry a title built around content output or follower counts. Her currency is something harder to manufacture: trust. Over more than 30 years operating at the intersection of wellness, fitness, television commerce, and entrepreneurial communities, she has become one of the most recognizable relationship architects in the industry.

“Wendy understands something that many people miss entirely — health media is ultimately about trust, relationships, credibility, and community.”  — Anthony Lolli, Co-Founder, HNN

Before biohacking was a podcast category. Before longevity clinics opened on every corner. Before the algorithm decided who was an expert. La Torre and her late husband, chiropractor and wellness innovator Dr. Bill La Torre, were already in the room introducing concepts like juicing, smoothie bars, and nutrition based lifestyle optimization as far back as the late 1970s and into the 1990s.

Her collaboration with fitness icon Tony Little during the Home Shopping Network era placed her inside one of the earliest large scale experiments in televised wellness commerce a proving ground for ideas that would eventually reshape how Americans think about their health.

Her Role at HNN

La Torre’s mandate inside HNN centers on what she does best: opening doors. Strategic introductions, relationship cultivation, partnership development, and identifying the aligned experts and wellness entrepreneurs who belong inside HNN’s long-term vision for expert-owned media infrastructure.

It’s a role that extends naturally from her existing network which includes longstanding relationships with figures like entrepreneur Kevin Harrington, along with founders, practitioners, investors, and wellness personalities across Florida and the broader national landscape.

“People are hungry for trusted information, authentic experts, and whole-body wellness conversations that go deeper than trends and algorithms.”  Wendy La Torre

Gayle Guyardo, HNN’s Head of Network Development and former longtime WFLA anchor, framed the significance plainly: “Wendy has been ahead of wellness trends for decades. More importantly, she understands people. She understands relationships. She understands trust. That combination is incredibly valuable as HNN continues assembling one of the most relationship-driven ecosystems in modern health media.”

Momentum

The announcement lands on the heels of HNN’s international debut at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival, where the network introduced its expert-owned streaming model to leading voices across health, wellness, longevity, and entrepreneurship. La Torre joins a growing roster that now includes veteran television executive Todd Wiseman as Strategic Advisor and Emmy Award-winning journalist Jamie Tompkins in a strategic media leadership role.

HNN’s platform built across Roku, Apple TV, Fire TV, iOS, Android, and connected television — gives qualified doctors, practitioners, researchers, and wellness leaders branded streaming channels inside a curated OTT ecosystem, replacing algorithm dependency with direct audience ownership.
